The Challenge
During a major refinery turnaround, the contractor discovered 47 field clashes and design discrepancies that required immediate engineering resolution. The EPC's home-office engineering team was 1,200 miles away with a 2-week response backlog.
Our Approach
We deployed a two-person ECO team on-site within 4 hours of the call. Working directly with craft supervisors and the turnaround coordinator, we triaged the 47 issues by criticality and began delivering stamped solutions the same day. We maintained on-site presence for the duration of the 3-week turnaround.
The Result
All 47 ECOs resolved with an average turnaround of 18 hours. Zero crew idle time attributed to engineering delays. The contractor estimated $1.2M in avoided delay costs.
